Physiotherapy

We pride ourselves at the Active Recovery Clinic in our experienced and knowledgeable physiotherapists. Our staff are well versed in manual skills, Mckenzie ,Mulligan as well as Schwarmen approaches of physiotherapy care. Several of our therapists have extensive knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of sports injuries and much more.

On your first visit you will undergo a detailed physical evaluation to identify your injuries. You and your physiotherapist will determine your goals and an individualized treatment plan will be developed. Ongoing treatment to reduce pain and inflammation is commenced immediately.

We believe in the active approach and the best predictor for recovery is regular participation and progress in physical exercise. Most injuries are a result of or cause muscle imbalances that usually do not correct themselves on their own. Your physiotherapist will instruct you on injury specific exercises.

Manual therapy, massage, acupuncture and the use of physical modalities such as ice, heat, laser, ultrasound, and electrotherapy are used to support exercise tolerance.

Regular reassessments and treatment progression allows for a successful outcome for your injury.

It is not unusual for patients to have to attend treatment 2-3 times per week for 4-8 weeks for common orthopedic conditions. The most beneficial attendance schedule for you at the clinic will be determined by you and your therapist. Please remember that your appointment times are reserved for you and a 24 hour cancellation policy is in effect.
